The 6th Meeting of the Project’s Partners, the Steering Committee and the Users Committee was held remotely on 30 November 2020 at 11.00 a.m.

The Meeting aimed at summing up of obtained results of researches as well as at presenting of dissemination manners of these achievements among entrepreneurs potentially interested in implementing of them on an industrial scale.

The representatives of the Institute of Natural Fibres and Medicinal Plants informed that they were finalising the researches. The obtained results were presented at the Seminar promoting the Project organised in the form of webinar on 5 November 2020 as well as in the promotional brochure. The final report for the National Centre of Researches and Development will be submitted in due time.

The representative of the German Project’s Partner – Fraunhofer IMWS – observed that due to a restricted access to the laboratory caused by the pandemic COVID-19, complete results and a final report for the Project Financing Institution would be presented by the Institute at the stipulated date, i.e. by the end of January 2021 at the very latest.

The originally planned for spring, however  postponed due to pandemics COVID- 19, Seminar promoting the Project – was held remotely in the form of webinar on 5 November 2020.  

The Seminar aimed at presenting the results of researches conducted by  the Project’s Partner – Institute of Natural Fibres and Medicinal Plants as well as applications of  these results in the industry.

The Seminar was held within the conference entitled ” Rebuilding and Sustainable Development of Production and Processing of Natural Fibrous Raw Materials for Needs of Agriculture and Economy” organised by the Institute.

The free of charge webinar dedicated the realisation of the tasks under CELPREG Project “Preimpregnated Flax Fibre Laminate for Processing under Low Pressure Conditions” will be held on  5 November 2020 at 10.30-12.30 .

The 5th  – organised every 6 months – Meeting of the CELPREG Project’s  Partners, the Users Committee consisting of representatives of the industry as well as the Steering Committee was held in a remote way on 26 June 2020 at 11.00.

The participants of the meeting discussed so far results of particular tasks/work packages which due to the pandemics COVID-19 could not be freely executed and – first of all they approved the work schedule for the next half a year. They hoped that the prolongation of the Project’s duration by 31 December 2029 would facilitate the full execution of all the tasks.

The Gdynia Cotton Association in the agreement with the Institute of Natural Fibres and Medicinal Plants   applied to the National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR) for the  prolongation of the duration of the Project. The decision resulted from the fact that due to pandemic COVID-19, researches could not be conducted on time.  German Partners i.e. Association for Research and Development in Materials from Renewable Resources (WNR) as well as  Fraunhofer Institute for Microstructure of Materials and Systems (IMWS)  also submitted the analogical motion to the German Financing Agency. Both Polish and German Agencies accepted   the  prolongation of the duration of the Project by  31 December 2020.

We kindly inform you that due to still high level of the epidemiologic threat the CELPREG Seminar entitled “Industry-driven innovation for natural fiber based materials “ scheduled for 14 May 2020 in Łódź has been cancelled.

A new date and a venue of the meeting will be announced as soon  as external conditions let us  meet safely.

On 20 March 2020 during 11.00 a..m. – 3 p.m. in the conference rooms  of Hotel CAMPANILE in 27 Piłsudskiego Avenue, the Seminar entitled “Industry- driven innovation for natural fiber based  materials” will be held under the CELPREG Project

Participation in the Seminar is free of charge.

During the Seminar lunch and coffee will be served.

The programme will soon appear on the website as well as will be currently updated.

PROGRAMME

Apart from the Meeting on 21 November 2019 – the Project Partners had the presentation promoting the Project at the Textile Forum – one of the important events accompanying the Fair.

The presentation entitled “Composites reinforced with natural fibres – the CELPREG Project” was delivered by Ms Weronika Gieparda M.Sc. representing the Institute of Natural Fibres and Medicinal Plants.

The presentation attracted participants of the Fair, including the GCA members – entrepreneurs who attended the event as exhibitors.

The 4th meeting of the Project Partners, the Steering Committee and the Users Committee was held in Nadarzyn on 21 November 2019 – during the 6th edition of the International Textile Fair – FAST TEXTILE.

The results of realisation of particular tasks foreseen by the Project were presented and discussed at the meeting. Simultaneously , the attendees focused on activities aimed at promoting the Project as widely as possible among entrepreneurs interested in implementing of innovative solutions. Furthermore, the detailed task schedule for next months was agreed.

The Director of the Institute of Natural Fibres and Medicinal Plants Assoc. Prof. Małgorzata Zimniewska, PhD Eng  – Research Manager of the Project – participated in the 4th International Conference on Natural Fibres (ICNF) which was held on 30 June – 3 July 2019 in Porto in Portugal under the theme “Smart Sustainable Solutions” . Director Małgorzata Zimniewska presented a poster entitled “Comparative analysis of properties of different varieties of flax fiber meeting requirements of composite reinforcement” documenting the results of so-far researches realised under the Project. The poster had been prepared by the persons involved in the Project in the Institute, i.e. Małgorzata Zimniewska, Anna Kicińska-Jakubowska, Wanda Różańska, Barbara Romanowska, Patrycja Przybylska and Edyta Kwiatkowska.
The presented outcomes aroused interest among the participants of the Conference. The event attracted about 180 participants from 26 countries. The Conference included three thematic both scientific and poster sessions held concurrently on each of the three days of the debates.
